What Are the Benefits of Peptide Therapy?

Peptides are versatile treatments that can be used to provide a wide range of benefits. Some of the most common uses for peptide therapies include exercise recovery, energy boosts, improved cognitive function, and anti-aging and longevity. Peptides can also be a good option for weight management support, as well as aiding in muscle growth. Peptide injections can cause minimal discomfort; this is a temporary effect, and side effects are generally minimal as well.

Frequently Asked Questions

While the term “peptide” includes many different types of treatments, they are all made up of chains of amino acids, performing key roles in our body’s functions. A few important ways our bodies use peptides include hormone regulation, immune responses, cell communication, and skin health.

While the side effects of each peptide therapy are similar, it’s worth considering them individually to get a better idea of what to expect:

Sermorelin

  • Injection Site Reactions – The most common reactions to Sermorelin include swelling, pain, irritation, itching, and sensitivity at the injection site. These symptoms may last several days.
  • Dizziness and Headaches – These symptoms may be associated with blood pressure changes and can generally be treated by drinking more water.
  • Nausea – You may need to adjust your diet to account for changes.
  • Mood Changes – Treatment may be associated with emotional fluctuations, but these are generally temporary.
  • Allergic Reaction – Like most medications, rare cases of allergic reaction do occur. While reactions can be minor, if you experience difficulty breathing or swallowing, or other severe reactions, seek immediate medical attention.

NAD+

  • Flushing – This effect is temporary and immediate.
  • Nausea – Gastrointestinal effects are generally temporary and are usually associated with higher doses.
  • Headache – Treatment-related headaches are typically mild and temporary.
  • Dizziness – Dizziness associated with NAD+ is rare, temporary, and usually caused by injecting too quickly.
  • Fatigue or Fogginess – While NAD+ can boost energy levels, it may have an immediate and temporary “system reboot” effect.
  • Muscle Cramps, Chest Tightness – During treatment, you may experience these symptoms, but they can be resolved by adjusting your technique.
  • Allergic Reaction – Allergic reactions to NAD+ are extremely rare. If you experience difficulty breathing, hives, rash, swelling of the face, or a sudden drop in blood pressure, seek immediate medical attention.

Glutathione

  • Gastrointestinal Effects – Including bloating, diarrhea, and cramping, these effects are common as well as generally mild and temporary after treatment.
  • Headaches – While Glutathione-related headaches can range from mild to moderate, they can generally be resolved through dosage adjustments and proper hydration.
  • Allergic Reaction – Glutathione may cause an allergic reaction in rare cases. While reactions can be mild, if you experience difficulty breathing or swelling or the face, seek immediate medical attention.
  • Injection Site Reactions – Like any injection, Glutathione injections can cause some reactions, including redness, irritation, or itching.

Zinc Deficiency – With long-term use, Glutathione treatment may lead to reduced zinc levels in the body. This can be managed through monitoring and supplements.
